This department develops activities in three major research areas: Insect Taxonomy and Bioecology; Arthropod-Plant-Microorganisms Interactions; Strategies for Insect Pest Management. It offers undergraduate courses for programs in Agriculture, Forestry, Environmental Management, Food Science and Biological Sciences. Its faculty participates in a graduate program in Entomology.
