International Cellular and Molecular Plant Biology (PhD)

The International Cellular and Molecular Plant Biology (Ph.D.) program involves three institutions: The University of Sao Paulo, in Brazil, and The State University of New Jersey (Rutgers) and The Ohio State University, both in the United States. The mobility, culture and language training that this program provides for students give it a true international feature, exposing qualified participants to diverse academic backgrounds within a triple organization. Students graduating from this program emerge with a broad global perspective and a high level of proficiency, and thus are highly qualified to work in academics, or as leaders in areas of science and technology.

Degrees and time to completion

The program offers the degrees of Master and Doctor in Sciences, both full-time, and the maximum time to completion is 48 and 60 months respectively for the Doctor and Straight-through Doctor degree programs.

Research fields

  • Molecular genetics and development
  • Molecular phylogeny and evolution of plants
