ESALQ receives Thai delegation

Delegation was received at the Main Building | Agreement between ESALQ and Kasetsart University (KU) is in place since 2012

On May 20th, 2014, representatives of Kasetsart University (KU), Thailand, and the Royal Thai Embassy in Brazil were welcomed at the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (USP/ESALQ). As part of the visit schedule, the delegation visited different campuses of the University of São Paulo (USP), and the activity held at ESALQ aimed to present its agricultural research fields and facilities.

The Thai delegation was composed of: Poonpipope Kasemsap, Vice President of International Relations, KU; Sudket Nakhasathien, College of Agriculture Dean, KU; Apinun Suprasert, College of Veterinary Medicine Dean, KU; Pitchayaphant Charnbhumidol, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand in Brazil; and Ploy Khumthukthit, First Secretary of the Royal Thai Embassy in Brazil.

The delegation was welcomed by Professor Gilberto José de Moraes, Entomology and Acarology Department (LEA), who coordinates the academic agreement between ESALQ and KU since 2012, and by Professor Heloisa Lee Burnquist, Economics, Administration and Sociology Department (LES), Vice President of the International Relations Committee.

Next, the delegation was guided through the Animal Science Department (LZT) and the Entomology and Acarology Department (LEA) by Professors Luiz Gustavo Nussio and João Roberto Spotti Lopes. During the afternoon, researcher Monica Labate guided their visit to the Genetics Department (LGN).
