On May 14th, Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (USP/ESALQ) received a delegation from the University of California, Davis. During the morning, the representatives of UC Davis were at the Center of Nuclear Energy in Agriculture (CENA), where they had a meeting with the director of CENA, Tsai Siu Mui, and Quirijn de Jong van Lier, professor at the Division of Tropical Ecosystem Functioning.

Later, the Americans were welcomed at the Dean’s Office by the dean of ESALQ, professor Luiz Gustavo Nussio, the vice-dean, professor Durval Dourado Neto, and by the president of the International Relations Committee, Marisa Aparecida Bismara Regitano d 'Arce. At that moment, they watched an institutional presentation.

According to professor Durval Dourado Neto, it’s a valuable opportunity to dialogue with one of the best universities in the world in agronomy. “It is important to talk about the possibility of establishing an international cooperation agreement, in order to attend the relatively large demand of undergraduate students and intensify the exchange of professors”.

In the afternoon, the representatives talked with ESALQ professors about opportunities for cooperation and they visited the facilities of the Biosystems Engineering Department.

On May 12-13, the delegation from UC Davis attended the FAPESP Week UC Davis, symposium in order to create opportunities to connect researchers in the areas of Neurosciences; Cancer Research; Particles; Materials Science and Chemistry; Food and Agriculture; Water and Energy.
